Rent out your DGX Spark: requirements and setup

By Samuel Seidel · Published October 3, 2026

To rent out a DGX Spark through GPUwerk Platform you need a supported GB10 machine that you own, located in your EU or EEA country of residence, an internet line with at least 300 Mbit/s down and 100 Mbit/s up, and a second computer to make a USB install stick. The install erases the Spark and replaces its system with one that GPUwerk manages remotely. Plan an evening for the install and about 72 hours of automatic burn-in afterwards.

Checklist

Machine
DGX Spark Founders Edition, ASUS Ascent GX10, Lenovo ThinkStation PGX
Firmware
TPM 2.0 on, Secure Boot on
Location
Your country of residence, in the EU or EEA
Internet
At least 300 Mbit/s down, 100 Mbit/s up; outbound HTTPS and UDP
Network
Wired Ethernet with DHCP recommended; no port forwarding
For the USB stick
A Linux, macOS or Windows computer, a 16 GB stick, 45 GB free disk
On the Spark
A wired USB keyboard and a display, for the install only
Burn-in
About 72 hours, then a review by GPUwerk

Who can apply

Owners in the 27 EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The Spark has to be in the same country you're resident in; an application that declares a machine elsewhere is refused with that reason. Businesses with or without a VAT ID and private individuals can all apply. GPUwerk verifies identity before approval: an ID document and proof of address for individuals, a company registry extract for businesses without a VAT ID. You must own the machine outright, and the payout account must be in your name. Owners in the UK, Switzerland, the US and elsewhere can't join yet.

Supported machines

ModelFirmware setup
NVIDIA DGX Spark Founders EditionHold Esc or Del at power-on. Check the TPM is enabled, as NVIDIA's user guide describes.
ASUS Ascent GX10Press F2 or Del. The TPM ships turned off: enable it under Advanced, Trusted Computing, Security Device Support.
Lenovo ThinkStation PGX (30KL0004MK)GPUwerk hasn't confirmed the keys on a PGX yet. Follow Lenovo's own article and check the TPM 2.0 chip is enabled.

The application form and the registration check accept these three models. The USB tool also has an option for other OEMs' GB10 machines, but registration refuses a model that isn't on the list, so email support@gpuwerk.com before installing one.

Per model keys and screens are in the guide: Founders Edition, ASUS Ascent GX10, Lenovo ThinkStation PGX. The install guide itself says where GPUwerk stands: the install has run end to end in an emulator and in parts on real hardware, not yet on every model. If the Spark's screen shows something the guide doesn't describe, send support a photo.

Network

Wired Ethernet with DHCP is the recommended setup and needs no input on the Spark. Wi-Fi and a static address can be set on the Spark's own screen by pressing N, but Wi-Fi has only been tested in an emulator so far.

The Spark connects out to GPUwerk; nothing connects in. You don't need a public IP address or port forwarding. Your router does have to allow outgoing HTTPS (TCP 443) and outgoing UDP, because the Spark's encrypted tunnel to GPUwerk is WireGuard over UDP. On a network that blocks outgoing UDP the tunnel stays down, and there's no TCP fallback yet.

The line minimum is 300 Mbit/s down and 100 Mbit/s up, and the burn-in checks the connection to GPUwerk. A UPS isn't required, but GPUwerk recommends one: a Spark that loses power mid-rental earns nothing for the gap, and outages count against its reliability score.

What you need for the install

Setup, step by step

  1. Apply. Sign in or create an account at platform.gpuwerk.com and fill in the application, including each Spark's serial number. Only declared machines can be paired later.
  2. Sign and add a payout account. Once GPUwerk approves the application, the account owner signs the agreements and adds a bank account in the partner's name. GPUwerk verifies it, and the account becomes active.
  3. Make the USB stick. Download NVIDIA's parts and the GPUwerk USB maker, check its SHA-256, and write the stick (guide: make the install USB).
  4. Boot the Spark from it. In firmware setup, turn the TPM on and boot the stick; NVIDIA's recovery then wipes the drive and writes the new system (guide: boot the Spark).
  5. Pair it. After the first boot the Spark shows a six-letter pairing code, valid for 30 minutes. Type it at platform.gpuwerk.com/pair and confirm only if the serial number and TPM fingerprint in the console match the Spark's screen (guide: sign in and enter the code).
  6. Burn-in and review. Setup continues by itself, then about 72 hours of tests: GPU and memory, temperature under load, the network, renter isolation, and staying connected. GPUwerk reviews the results and lists the Spark (guide: after pairing).

If a burn-in test fails, the console names the test and why. Fix the cause and re-run it; another 72 hours starts. Problems and their messages are in the guide's troubleshooting section.

After it's listed

Keep it powered and connected. The Spark has no local login from now on, but you can still press N on its keyboard to change the network. For planned work, book a maintenance window in the console at least 48 hours ahead. What it pays is on how to earn money with your DGX Spark.
