DGX Spark price

By Samuel Seidel · Published September 14, 2026 · 7 min read

A DGX Spark costs €3,800 to €4,800 to buy in the EU, depending on the vendor and configuration, or $0.79 an hour to rent from GPUwerk with nothing to purchase. A two-node, 256 GB cluster rents at $1.79/hour. Which option costs less depends almost entirely on how many hours a month the machine actually runs.

What buying costs in the EU

We sell and manage DGX Sparks on-premise ourselves, but the range below is the EU street price we already publish on our on-premise page and in the rent-vs-buy comparison: €3,800 to €4,800. The low end is the ASUS Ascent GX10 board, the cheapest widely stocked EU route in. The high end is the NVIDIA Founders Edition on the EU marketplace, which moved up from a $3,999 US announcement price to roughly €4,800 in the EU, a change our before-you-buy guide covers in more detail. Every variant in this range runs the identical GB10 Grace Blackwell chip; the differences are storage size, warranty terms and support.

That range does not cover every partner variant on the market. Dell, HP, Lenovo and Gigabyte all sell GB10-based machines too, at prices that vary by region and configuration, some of them meaningfully higher than the ASUS-to-Founders-Edition range. We checked specific vendor pages and list what we could verify, with sources and a fetch date, on the where-to-buy page.

What renting costs

From our own pricing page: a single dedicated Spark is $0.79/hour, billed per minute against a prepaid balance, with no separate egress or ingress fees and 1 TB NVMe storage included. A two-node, 256 GB cluster is $1.79/hour, exactly double, for workloads that need more memory than one node provides. A customer-requested stop keeps the workspace on the same node at 75% of the running rate. Both prices exclude applicable tax, the same way most EU purchase prices include VAT, so compare ex-tax figures to ex-tax figures.

Worked examples

The single-node rate applied to three usage patterns, assuming the instance runs and nothing else changes:

Hours a monthMonthly cost at $0.79/hourTypical pattern
8 hours$6.32A short evaluation or a single weekend project
40 hours$31.60About an hour a weekday
160 hours$126.40Roughly a full working month, 8 hours a weekday

None of these three patterns comes close to the purchase price in a single month. The question is what happens over a year or more, and that depends on how many hours a month actually gets used, which is exactly what the calculator below works out for your own numbers.

Where renting stops being cheaper

Our rent-vs-buy page runs this arithmetic in full with an interactive calculator. The short version: below roughly 40 hours a week, renting stays cheaper than owning for years, because the purchased machine spends most of its time idle either way. Run one flat out, 24 hours a day, and it pays for itself against the on-demand rate in roughly seven and a half months, after which owning is the better deal. Everything in between is a matter of your own usage pattern, not opinion.

How this compares to other places to rent

GPUwerk is not the only place to rent a DGX Spark by the hour. We compared every provider we found, price, location, billing granularity and what happens to your data on stop, on the cloud providers page. We keep the rates out of this page to avoid duplicating a comparison that already exists, with sources, elsewhere on the site.

FAQ

What's included in the $0.79/hour rate?

The whole compute rate: a dedicated node, 1 TB NVMe storage, and no separate egress or ingress fees. It excludes applicable tax. A stopped instance holds its Spark at 75% of the running rate; terminating ends billing and deletes the workspace, with no backup kept.

Does the €3,800-€4,800 purchase range include tax?

EU list prices normally include VAT, while GPUwerk's rental rate excludes applicable tax. Compare ex-tax to ex-tax or the gap between buying and renting looks smaller or larger than it actually is.

Can I rent one before deciding to buy?

Yes. GPUwerk both rents Sparks by the hour and sells and manages them on-premise, so you can test your workload on a rented node first and have the same class of machine delivered once you know it fits.

Is there a cheaper way to buy than the NVIDIA Founders Edition?

Usually yes. Partner variants from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo and others run the identical GB10 chip at different price points and storage sizes. See our where-to-buy page for the specific vendors and prices we verified.
